May 9, 2013 - We are offering free introductory training classes for DESIGN II for Windows at our new office in Richmond, Texas. We still have 2 or 3 spots open for the class scheduled for Friday, July 12, 2013 at 8 am. Let us know by RSVP to admin if you are interested and we will send you a confirmation e-mail with directions.

The class lasts a half day, from 8 am until noon. Murugan Selvan, Ph.D. Chemical Engineering and head of our technical support staff will teach the class. The course is a very good overview of the capabilities of DESIGN II. The agenda for the session can be found at training agenda (70K Word document). We will try to adhere closely to the agenda to maximize the benefit of the class for all participants. If you are interested in more specific and detailed training, please e-mail WinSim Sales .

Please note that this class does contribute 4 hours towards the yearly requirements for the Texas board of Professional Engineers Continuing Education Program .

April 16, 2013 - Version 11.13 of DESIGN II for Windows is available for download now ! This is a release with both fixes and upgrades.

Please note that the default installation directory was changed from "c:\designii" to "c:\Program Files\DesignII" (Windows x86) or "c:\Program Files (x86)\DesignII" (Windows x64)
Please note that the configuration file directory was changed from "c:\designii" to "c:\users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\DesignII" (Windows 7) or "c:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Appliication Data\DesignII" (Windows XP or previous)
Added conversion of fixed Flowsheet Display unit conversion on streams and stream databox when the flowsheet ambient pressure has been changed from 14.696 psia
Fixed a program crash issue when the AppData environment logical was missing
Added a warning message whenever a compressor is work limited due to the maximum driver power specification with a high flowrate or a high pressure ratio
Fixed the tank's liquid and vapor volume unit conversions and added Vent Liquid/Vent Mixed items. Also added calculation of the vent vapor fraction and its results transfer to Excel.
Fixed the rating calculation for the PFX unit module
Miscellaneous small enhancements and fixes (see release notes )

Please note that the Password algorithm was changed for the 11.00 release. Your new password should have been emailed to the contact person for your account. If you need a new password, please contact Technical Support for your new password if you are on MSS or a Usage agreement.

September 5, 2012 - Please note that the printed documentation for DESIGN II for Windows version 11 has been updated at documentation . The Adobe Acrobat versions of the manuals will be included in the 11.09 release of DESIGN II for Windows.

Note that there is a new "Programming DESIGN II and Release Notes" manual that explains how to program DESIGN II internally and externally.
