February 3, 2012 - Version 11.04 of DESIGN II for Windows is available for download now ! This is a release with both fixes and upgrades.
  • Fixed a problem with the new drawing symbol definition that caused flowsheets with newer or custom symbols to fail validation
  • Miscellaneous small enhancements and fixes (see release notes ) i

February 3, 2012 - Version 11.03 of DESIGN II for Windows is available for download now ! This is a release with both fixes and upgrades.
  • Added tank, energy, power, material balance, and dynamic material data over time intervals to the Excel results transfer
  • Added support for the Divider and the Mutiple Divider to the Excel data exchange
  • Fixed the user drawn symbols to retain line type selections (dotted, solid, dashed, etc)
  • Added support for two phase streams to the Polytropic Compressor unit module
  • Improved the dew point calculation for hydrocarbon mixtures with soluble water (no free water). Also added a new best of saved results method for the bubble point calculation.
  • Fixed a couple of Q-T table issues with mulltiple hot streams and multiple cold streams for the PFX exchanger
  • Fixed the sonic velocity calculation and Cp/Cv calculation issues when using the LKPK correlation or any other correlation for a mixture close to its dew point temperature
  • Miscellaneous small enhancements and fixes (see release notes ) i

December 15, 2011 - We are offering free introductory training classes for DESIGN II for Windows at our offices here in Sugar Land, Texas. We still have 2 or 3 spots open for the class scheduled for Friday, February 10, 2012 at 8 am. Let us know by RSVP to admin if you are interested and we will send you a confirmation e-mail with directions.

The class lasts a half day, from 8 am until noon. Murugan Selvan, Ph.D. Chemical Engineering and head of our technical support staff will teach the class. The course is a very good overview of the capabilities of DESIGN II. The agenda for the session can be found at training agenda (70K Word document). We will try to adhere closely to the agenda to maximize the benefit of the class for all participants. If you are interested in more specific and detailed training, please e-mail WinSim Sales .

Please note that this class does contribute 4 hours towards the yearly requirements for the Texas board of Professional Engineers Continuing Education Program .

Please note that we are going to have a FREE Barbecue lunch after the training session. We would be pleased if you can stay to meet our staff and eat lunch with us.

January 31, 2011 - Please note that the printed documentation for DESIGN II for Windows 10.2 has been updated at documentation . The Adobe Acrobat versions of the manuals will be included in the 10.25 release of DESIGN II for Windows. You can order printed copies of all four manuals at www.lulu.com (the URLs are on documentation ).
